Since its establishment in 1999 as a city gas holding company, SK Inno­vation E&S has grown into South Korea’s largest private LNG provider, building a comprehensive LNG value chain on a global scale. The com­pany is now transforming into a leading global clean energy provider by integrating CCUS-based low-carbon LNG, renewable energy, hydrogen, and energy solutions into a unified green energy portfolio.

In 2024, SK Innovation E&S began commercial operations at its Incheon hydrogen liquefaction plant, capable of producing up to 30,000 tons of liquefied hydrogen annually. The company also secured final approval from South Korea’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy for its Yong-in Semiconductor LNG Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plant, which will supply heat and electricity to a major semiconductor cluster. Moreover, the Ministry of Environment selected iPARKING, South Korea’s lead­ing parking platform company owned by SK Innovation E&S, as an official provider for the national EV charging infrastructure support program. Capitalizing on this designation, the company has begun expanding its EV charging infrastructure and energy solutions business.

In May 2025, SK Innovation E&S began commercial operations of South Korea’s first private offshore wind farm, Jeonnam Offshore Wind Phase 1, and plans to com­mence commercial gas production at the Barossa Gas Field in Australia through a joint venture with Santos by the end of 2025.
